Pink Day at Petz Hospital in Győr – turning a shared idea into tangible results
Our PinkGasztro campaign week took place from 12–16 October, with more than fifty Delirest locations participating for the fourth year running. Every year, it is one of our most eagerly anticipated campaigns—not only because it supports the good cause of raising awareness for breast cancer, but also because it allows us to bring colour to everyday life through our food, service and creativity. This time, that colour was pink. It is wonderful to see our colleagues build on each other’s ideas, bringing even more creativity and care to the campaign year after year.
Our restaurant and café at Petz Aladár University Teaching Hospital in Győr also took part for the fourth consecutive year. This year, however, the programme went a step further: inspired by our initiative, the hospital’s management organised a full-day Pink Day event, which we jointly opened with Adrienn Csordás, the hospital’s Director of Nursing.
The programme highlighted the importance of breast screening and included a demonstration of breast self-examination, while participants who had experienced breast cancer shared their personal stories. Expert discussions, health information sessions, a quiz and a presentation on nutrition for oncology patients rounded out the day. A children’s choir and a celebratory cake, provided by the hospital team, added a special touch.
🎀 Most importantly, awareness led to concrete action: 42 mammograms were performed during the day. Several other participants also arranged appointments for later examinations.
Thank you to the hospital’s management for the opportunity and for making this shared initiative possible!
